This photograph was taken in St.Ives on a beautifully clear day late in the afternoon.
An awe inspiring place to be. I had my lunch on that bench and I wish those moments could last forever.
Again as many of my autumn photos have been, The leaves on the trees are mostly still green yet there are plenty of dead leaves on the green so there is a wonderful contrast at the moment. Contrast of colour. Yet not an over powering contrast.
The thing that makes this photo was the awesome light. I hope you can all share in my joy for this photograph.
Tech Note
This was taken with a 45mm tilt and shift lens with a 1.4xTC
It is a 3 image split in the shift mode. So the camera angle does not change but the lens moves on the camera to "shift" the image from left to right. This enables me to stich the images together in photoshop perfectly without any of the usual distortion and creates a deeper than normal angle of view without changing the perspective of the shot that you would normal get when either stiching images together from just moving the camera around on a tripod or using a wide angle lens.
Because I was using a 45mm+1.4xtc gives me a 63mm lens so the perspective is compressed. I had the camera mounted in portrait format and then shifted the lens from left to right to give me 3 vertical images that when stiched together gives me around a 28mm wide lens but without the perspective distortion.
I used a poloriser to deepen the colours and a relatively long exposure so some of the leaves that were moving appear a bit blurred so gives a slightly goshly impression.
Thats it. Hope that makes sense, this is the same technique used in my lake district shots earlier in my gallery.
