This ruined 'castle', named Woodhead House, lies hidden in the woodland in the shadow of the more modern Lennox Castle.
Woodhead House stands as an ivy -clad ruin in woodland adjacent Lennox Castle, at the steep lip of the escarpment above the Glazert. it was a typical L-shaped tower-house, built in 1572 for John Lennox of Balcorrach. All that remain of the original building are the vaulted basements, first floor hall and part of the stair-tower and turret. It is believed that the building was partly demolished to create a picturesque viewpoint soon after Lennox Castle was constructed in 1841
